Who doesn’t love popcorn?! It’s a great snack with minimal calories. Popcorn is also an easy treat to share with guests or take to a party. We jazzed it up for a tasty sweet and salty combination using chopped pistachios and melted chocolate.
- Pop the popcorn however you like; in the microwave, in an air popper, or over the stove.
- Spread the popcorn over a metal baking sheet pan in one even layer.
- Chop 1/2 cup of shelled pistachios into small pieces and melt the chocolate.
- Place 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the chocolate in the microwave for approximately 20 seconds at a time, being careful to not overheat to avoid burning the chocolate. Stir in between heating and continue heating in 20 seconds intervals until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
Place the melted chocolate in a container to dispense it. You could use a spoon, icing bag, or in our case we used a Yummi Pouch reusable food pouch to drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn.
After drizzling the chocolate, sprinkle the chopped pistachios on top. This will help the nuts to stick better to the popcorn, ensuring that sweet and salty flavor in every bite.
