When we travel to a new city, we enjoy finding a handful of family-friendly activities to do with our kids. Our young children most enjoy half-day activities that include things to see, interactive activities and a spot to eat lunch. Our visit to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science provided a great selection of exhibits for our kids to explore. Highlights of our visit included the Prehistoric Journey dinosaur and fossil exhibit, the life-like wildlife panoramas and the Gems & Minerals exhibit. We also saw an IMAX show about flight and a Planetarium presentation.
What do you like to do when the weather gets warmer? Our family loves to travel and explore new places. Our recent family road trip took us to destinations in California, Utah & Colorado. Here are some of the highlights from our family road trip adventures!
The best travel destinations are places for families to make memories, get some exercise and enjoy some good old family fun. Zion National Park is a great place to visit and go on a family hike — even with young kids! We enjoyed exploring the canyon paths, walking in the river and taking in the gorgeous views on all sides.
Our cold weather travels took us to the Seattle area for a few days. We stayed at the Comfort Suites hotel in Tukwila, WA which ended up being a great choice for our family because of the pool, hot breakfast and more!
Rainy days are perfect for going to a museum and learning about history. Our recent trip to Washington took us to the Seattle Museum of Flight where we learned about the history of aviation and saw lots of airplanes. My kids enjoyed sitting in fighter jet cockpits and wandering through the spacious airplane exhibits. I enjoyed learning about some of the details of World War I and World War II and looking at historical photographs. A family could easily spend an entire day at the Seattle Museum of Flight, get lunch at the cafe and watch one of the IMAX presentations. The Museum of Flight is a great Pacific Northwest family trip destination.

Traveling to fancy towns can be a little tricky with kids. For example, it’s not as easy to go to a classy restaurant or shop at boutique stores with a gaggle of toddlers. But when we travel, we have our 3 small children in tow. Here are some fun family-friendly activities we found in the gorgeous California town of Carmel by the Sea.
