There’s something intriguing about a crisp fall day, when the temperatures get colder and the trees begin to transform into a landscape of color. Fall is a great time to celebrate with fun family activities and tasty treats! Our apple tree was overflowing with gorgeous home-grown apples this year so we made some yummy hand-dipped caramel apples! These homemade caramel apples are easy to make in just a few easy steps.
First gather your supplies. You’ll need a quantity of apples, clean and rinsed sticks/twigs, and a bag of soft caramel candy.
Choose apples that aren’t bruised. We picked our apples straight from our backyard apple tree! Rinse each apple and insert a wooden skewer or clean twig or small stick.
Make the caramel sauce by melting a bag of unwrapped caramel candies in 2 tbsp. of water. Heat over medium heat until the caramel candies are fully melted, stirring continually until combined and smooth.
Next, insert a stick into each apple and dip the apple into the melted caramel. Place each dipped apple onto a sheet of parchment paper to cool and set.
Homemade caramel apples are a fun treat for the fall!
To make a kid-friendly caramel apple snack, cut up each apple into small slices.
I hope you and your family enjoy this delicious homemade snack that is inspired by fall!
