Homemade strawberry fruit snacks are easy to make and yummy to eat! These dried fruit bites don’t have any added sugar and are just a chewey and sweet as real fruit snacks. They also have a tart flavor to them; a natural version of sour candy! We made our own batch in just a few easy steps.
To make homemade dried strawberry bites, slice up fresh strawberries, removing the stem and leaves. We sliced the strawberries lengthwise, although you could cube them, or slice them across the middle.
Lay the sliced strawberries on a cookie sheet and bake at 200 degrees for 3 hours. This may seem like a long time to wait, but it will go fast if you bake them while doing other things. These low-maintenance snacks will slowly dry out and be ready to enjoy in no time!
Our dried strawberry fruit snacks got a little stuck to the pan, so we’d recommend baking them on a layer of parchment paper. We’ll try this next time and let you know how it goes. The strawberries will slowly lose moisture and turn a gummy leathery texture. If you’d like bigger chunks, bake cubes of strawberries or just slice each strawberry in half to avoid creating dry wafery parts. These turned out deliciously though!
Mix your dried strawberries with banana chips and nuts for a healthy snack, or just eat them alone. They have a sweetly tart taste that’s decently addicting. Dried strawberries are like healthy sour gummies!
We’d love to hear how your strawberry snacks turned out! Just leave us a comment below.
