We recently took a family trip to Seattle and stopped by the American Girl store in the Alderwood Mall. My girls had so much fun browsing the store and seeing all the characters from their AG catalog in person! My four year old loves her WellieWishers dolls and BeForever doll Maryellen, and it was a fun treat to see the WellieWishers playhouse and coordinating outfits for girls and their dolls, as well as the huge displays of each BeForever American Girl character with their collection of outfits and accessories, and Truly Me modern American Girl Dolls. I'm excited to share the pictures from our visit, as well as the surprise treat that Daddy bought for my little girl. ♥
This little girl was stoked to visit the American Girl store for the first time! Upon entering, the dazzling display of outfits and accessories for BeForever American Girl Dolls Melody and Maryellen are colorful and enchanting for little girls. I loved looking through my American Girl catalog as a child and I know I would have had so much fun seeing all of these American Girl displays in person! Melody's piano and recording studio and Maryellen's jukebox and diner accessories are such fun toys with historical storylines.
Another fun element that American Girl has really developed are the coordinating outfits for girls and dolls. Girls can wear Maryellen's darling bloomer pajama's or her beautiful candy striped dress. My daughter was actually more interested in checking out all the girls' American Girl clothes than browsing the doll accessories! Just a hint about her surprise treat at the end of our visit.
We also got a peek at American Girl's doll hair salon and cafe bistro. You can bring your doll to the American Girl store and pick out a new hair-do from a hair style look book. So fun! You can also enjoy lunch at the American Girl bistro, complete with a booster seat for your doll. A mommy and daughter lunch at the AG store sounds like so much fun! We might have to check out the American Girl bistro lunch experience another time. One of the many things that I love about having two girls fairly close together is all the fun girly outings I'll get to do with them as they get older. Both my girls are already very girly; my oldest loves dresses and accessories, and my youngest daughter loves putting on jewelry and wearing her boots. Figures. Their momma has 3 pairs of UGGs.
The American Girl Bitty Baby doll display was another highlight. My daughter loves babies and was intriqued by all the Bitty Baby accessories for feeding, diapering and caring for your Bitty Baby. I remember when Bitty Baby dolls first came out and they are just as adorable as when American Girl first introduced them. Now they have Bitty Baby stollers, babywearing carriers, cribs, swaddles; the works! American Girl Bitty Baby is such a fun and timeless way to encourage girls to love and care for their baby dolls, which translates into to real life when my little girls help take care of their baby brother.
The final highlight was the WellieWishers dolls; a definite favorite. The WellieWishers are American Girl's newest line of dolls, a group of friends who love playing together, stopping in mud puddles in their Wellie boots, and being a good friend. My daughter loves her WellieWishers dolls Ashlyn and ocean-loving Camille (her favorite, also because my daughter loves blue) and it was really fun to see the rest of the WellieWishers friends in person. These dolls are well made and have adorable outfits that coordinate with their Wellie boots and personalities too! American Girl even made a WellieWishers animated show that allows girls to get to know each of these fun characters a little better; Emerson, Camille, Willa, Ashlyn, and Kendall. A huge highlight at the American Girl store was the WellieWishers playhouse, a fun store prop that girls can play in and that is beautifully detailed to match the WellieWishers' backyard garden.

Usually we like to encourage our daughters to enjoy an experience without having to buy something at every turn, so I was somewhat surprised when Daddy let her pick out a special treat. Of course, my daughter picked out her favorite thing; her favorite WellieWishers doll's matching outfit; Camille's cute blue tulle-embellished top and flowy striped handkerchief hem skirt. She felt so special trying on Camille's cute outfit, watching Daddy buy it, and wearing it out of the store! This playful blue outfit with a sparkly skirt couldn't have been more perfectly designed for my daughter! (who loves all things blue and sparkly)
We had a super fun time visiting the American Girl store in the Seattle area, located in the Alderwood mall. When I was a little girl I dreamed about visiting the original American Girl flagship store in Chicago but now there are lots of American Girl stores in many of the large cities, making an AG store visit as easy as going to the mall! I hope you enjoyed the peek into our Seattle American Girl store visit! If you ever get a chance to go, I'm sure you and your kids will enjoy visiting the American Girl store as much as we did!
