Rainy days are perfect for going to a museum and learning about history. Our recent trip to Washington took us to the Seattle Museum of Flight where we learned about the history of aviation and saw lots of airplanes. My kids enjoyed sitting in fighter jet cockpits and wandering through the spacious airplane exhibits. I enjoyed learning about some of the details of World War I and World War II and looking at historical photographs. A family could easily spend an entire day at the Seattle Museum of Flight, get lunch at the cafe and watch one of the IMAX presentations. The Museum of Flight is a great Pacific Northwest family trip destination.

Summer can be filled with lots of fun and adventures. My kids love water, which means we regularly go swimming, use our hot tub, play in the sprinkler, and enjoy afternoons in the boat on the lake. Water activities can be lots of fun as well as create some possible hazards. These water safety tips shared by a father and police officer can help parents keep kids safe during family water activities. We love exploring new places with our kids. I’m excited to share the highlights from our family visit to Mount St. Helens lava tubes and Ape Cave in Washington State.
This spring we had a chance to visit the Vancouver Aquarium in Canada. We’ve visited many aquariums and it’s always fun to see the unique attractions each location offers. The Vancouver Aquarium has plenty of things to see and lots of interactive activities for families. My kids enjoyed learning about many different sea creatures and observing a wide variety of fish and marine animals up close!
Our family loves going on adventures. We also have 3 young kids which can make it challenging to find the right adventures to go on. Last year we decided to purchase an RV to make camping, road trips, and exploring new places a whole lot easier. Our RV is awesome because our kids can nap on the go, use the bathroom, and enjoy a fairly normal routine in our home away from home! Our first trip took us to Seattle where we visited one of our favorite places, the Woodland Park Zoo! Our kids have always loved seeing all the unique animals that live at the zoo, skipping along the zoo pathways, and enjoying the kid-friendly and sensory activities offered by the zoo. The day we visited the zoo was very typical of Seattle weather; misty and overcast. The weather didn’t dampen our adventurous spirits!
