When we travel to a new city, we enjoy finding a handful of family-friendly activities to do with our kids. Our young children most enjoy half-day activities that include things to see, interactive activities and a spot to eat lunch. Our visit to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science provided a great selection of exhibits for our kids to explore. Highlights of our visit included the Prehistoric Journey dinosaur and fossil exhibit, the life-like wildlife panoramas and the Gems & Minerals exhibit. We also saw an IMAX show about flight and a Planetarium presentation.
What do you like to do when the weather gets warmer? Our family loves to travel and explore new places. Our recent family adventures took us down the coast of California, over to Colorado and back up to Coeur d’Alene Idaho. We visited some of our extended family in California and stayed in our toy hauler RV trailer, which makes traveling with kids so much easier. Our RV provides our kids comfortable spaces to nap after a shopping trip and a place to rinse off after a swim at the pool. We can also wake up in the morning and make a full breakfast, saving money and reducing the hassle of eating out with little kids. Here are some of the highlights from our California glamping road trip!
The best travel destinations are places for families to make memories, get some exercise and enjoy some good old family fun. Zion National Park is a great place to visit and go on a family hike. We enjoyed exploring the canyon paths, walking in the river and taking in the gorgeous views on all sides.
The best way to learn about science is by performing your own experiments, but not every family has a full science lab in their garage. These static electricity activities are fun to incorporate into homeschool or do as an after school activity.
This weekend we participated in our local Hayden Library craft fair and we made some glittery paper crafts to “sell” to other kids. Each kid who came received tickets they could use to buy crafts. We had a lot of fun sharing our glittery paper crafts and taking home some other creative projects made by local kids.
One of the trickiest things about traveling with young kids can be finding activities for them to enjoy. After a long day in the car my kids are ready to get out and run or do something fun! We recently visited the Seattle area in Washington state and we stayed near Tukwila’s Family Fun Center. This pacific northwest family travel destination has something for all ages. My younger kids enjoyed the kids rides and climbing on the massive play structure. Family Fun Center activities for older kids and teenagers include laser tag, bowling, the XD Theater Experience with different shows you can choose from, bumper cars, go karts and arcade games!
