I am a firm believer in hands-on play time and letting kids get dirty. Around here we spend as much time outdoors as possible exploring and imagining. I have a 3 year old boy so we do a lot of playing with dirt, mud, rocks and trucks. My son also loves helping me hands-on in the kitchen, which is a different mind of mess.
