No matter what stage of motherhood you're in, whether you're expecting, raising a baby, or have older children, you can subscribe to receive an Ecocentric Mom Box that is thoughtfully filled with products that are useful for your unique season. The products you sample are healthy, worthwhile, and come from ethical brands. For the month of July I requested the Mom and Baby Box, which included a variety of items for me and my babies. Here's a summary of my experience with each of the products that I received and used.
Just like many other moms, I love ending my day with a nice long shower. If the day has been a more difficult one, I make it extra restful by using a scrub. I'm so glad that I got to try the Cultivar Organic Moroccan Mint Body Scrub. It's rich and has the right amount of scrub. Also, the mint is absolutely soothing, which is just what I need after chasing a toddler and rocking a newborn all day. This scrub leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and the mint lingers on your body after you're out of the shower. The cherry on top is that this product is free of any harsh chemicals.
When I received this Vana Bergamot + Tea Tree Facial Oil I was a bit nervous to put it on my face since most things seem to cause my sensitive skin to break out. However, after reading that this oil is rich in Vitamin E, Omega 3 and Omega 6, I rolled the dice and included it in my bedtime facial routine. My rational, I could use the extra source of moisturizer and another way to enhance the overall appearance of my skin. Drum roll… so far so good! No break-outs and my face feels great. This oil also feels nice to rub into cuticles. A little goes a long way, so I am expecting it last me a while.
Birds & Bees offer a variety of tea blends that are safe to enjoy during pregnancy, while nursing, and to even share with your kids. I was pretty excited to try the Easy Naps & Calm Nights Tea by Birds & Bees Teas. This special blend includes Oat Seed, Chamomile Flowers, Skullcap Leaf, Linden Leaf and Flower, Lavender Flower, and Orange Peel. This blend is naturally caffeine free so the whole family can enjoy it as they wind down in the evening.
After just trying the Fire and Flavor Chicken Rub one time it became our household favorite for baked drumsticks. All I did was rub the drumsticks with a little bit of grapeseed oil and this all-natural chicken rub and then popped them into the oven for an hour. I also tried this rub on chicken thighs and they turned out delicious as well. This rub is also a good option for pork and seafood. The ingredients include: curry, cumin, chilies, salt, turbinado sugar, dried garlic, dried onion, and hickory smoke powder.
NooTrees Baby Wipes and tissues are made of 100% sustainable and biodegradable bamboo. Bamboo products are hypoallergenic, which means it's a safer option for babies' sensitive skin. The tissues are 2 ply, BPA free, are pretty strong and absorbent. The BumBoosa wipes are lightly scented with lavender and orange essential oils.
Wow Butter looks like, feels like, and tastes like peanut butter, but contains no peanuts nor nuts! Wow Butter is a great peanut and nut free option for those who still want the peanut butter experience. It's safe for schools, GMO free, Vegan, Halal/Kosher, is a complete protein food, and is a great source of Omega-3's. I gave this butter a try at breakfast with our homemade waffles and my toddler absolutely loved it! She continued to snack on the butter throughout the day.
Once my oldest daughter began eating solids, I would regularly pack a puree pouch for a quick meal on the go. While out and about there were many times when my little one would squeeze the pouch so hard that a torrent of puree would come out. The result, a baby and a stroller covered in puree. Pouch Pal offers a simple solution for this. All you do is snap it open and place the food pouch inside. This way the child is unable to squeeze the pouch, but is instead able to suck out the appropriate amount of food without making a mess. Keep in mind the Pouch Pal was designed for a child one year or older.
I enjoy making homemade purees for my little one. I also like the option of feeding her these goodies when we're out and about. Bringing a little container and spoon isn't always convenient nor as simple as popping out a pouch. The Nourish Pouch makes it a breeze to have homemade puree on the go. All you do is open the resealable bottom closure and fill it up with the puree. Plus you're not limited to only puree, you can fill it up with your favorite applesauce, yogurt, kefir, or anything else that your child likes to eat. The ability to open the bottom of the pouch makes cleaning it super easy and nuisance free.
When it comes to skin care for my children I'm cautious to what I expose them to. I try to stay away from chemicals as much as I practically can, and products like this shampoo and body wash make that possible! The Dolphin Organics Simply Citrus Shampoo and Body Wash has a nice light scent, is tear free, lathers up pretty well, and is easy to rinse out. It's a bit on watery side, but as long as you shake the bottle before using, it works great. Oh, and a final piece of advice, be careful not to pour too much out and waste it.
I enjoyed this month's box and I was introduced to new companies that I didn't know about! My favorite items that I received were the Cultivar Organic Moroccan Mint Body Scrub and the Birds & Bee Easy Naps & Calm Nights Tea. I'm looking forward to ordering more teas from Birds & Bees and sometimes treating myself to the Cultivar products. The best part of receiving these monthly boxes from Ecocentric Mom is that they help you find products that you'd otherwise might not have been exposed to. I highly recommend it!
