Sensory Glitter Goo

If you don’t happen to have extra glue and liquid starch, you can also make fun glitter goo with boxes of baking soda ($1 each) and water. Baking soda is an bacteria-resistant medium that’s fun to squish and squeeze when mixed with water!

If you want to make this sensory glitter goo more malleable, mix in 1 cup of hair conditioner until fully blended and doughy.

Materials

  • 3 boxes of baking soda
  • 1 cup water (add more as needed)
  • 1 cup hair conditioner (optional)

Mix ingredients together until fully combined and add glitter, beads, and tiny treasures! Store in an air-tight container.

Glitter Goo Treasure Mix-ins

My girls like to mix in beads and jewels to “discover” in their glitter goo. Sensory glitter goo is also fun to play with alongside washable figurines and miniature plastic creatures.

Easy sensory activities will make the summer days go a little faster, especially if you have young kids who always want to be doing something but have short attention spans. My kids love playing together and learning new things, and I love finding new ways to entertain them with discovery activities. What are your favorite sensory activities to do with your kids?

I love the look of that slime – the glitter makes it so fun. I used to work with kiddos with autism about 10 years ago now and making slime was one of our activities. I had no idea it would be such a big thing these days – kids are obsessed with it! 🙂
