Have a Spa Day Everyday

Have a Spa Day Everyday

Transform your morning routine into a luxurious Spa Day with a few easy tips. I get so excited when I find convenient ways to solve problems in my life and even boost my self-confidence. I live in Colorado where the seasons are all generally dry so I’m always looking for a way to restore, moisturize and hydrate my skin and lips.

Practical Tips for Self-Care and Relaxation

As a mom of a one year old, I don’t have much time for myself. My day consists of cleaning up messes and chasing my energetic toddler around the house as he finds new ways to get into trouble. Let’s face it:  The modern day woman has so much on her plate. With all our many tasks during the day, there’s just not enough time for self-care – let alone pampering!

My life has changed a lot since we welcomed our little guy into our home one year ago!

All work and no play often leads to what I like to call, a “Mom-Life-Crisis” – a feeling that there is nothing more to life than being an exhausted mom with no life or hobbies outside of the title of mom. It’s so easy to lose ourselves in the minutiae of household and family affairs, but it’s important to be intentional and – if at all possible – get away even for a few minutes at a time to regroup, re-energize and rejuvenate. Here are a few practical tips to de-stress and feel good throughout the day. You’ll find that just a few minutes of “me-time” will go a long way.

Take a Bath

Just once a week, I love to light some candles and soak in Epsom salt. A Epsom salt soak bath will actually cause you to be productive throughout the rest of your day because it is known to boost energy and rejuvenate. Epsom salt is used at spas for many health and beauty reasons including soreness, aches, pains, volumizing hair and exfoliating skin.

Break Out the Candles

Scented candles are used to evoke warm feelings of relaxation and to create a peaceful ambiance. Smell is such an important sense, because it is directly associated with memory, so each smell will affect you differently. Vanilla may remind you of your grandma’s baking, for instance. Certain scents have some known benefits which can help to de-stress from a long day.

Homesick Candles Seattle - Mommy Scene

These fun state-inspired candles from Homesick Candles each offer a unique fragrance inspired by a location or state. Each area is known for something, right? Breathe in the piney goodness of Seattle or soak up the fragrances of spruce and spice inspired by Colorado. Wake up and smell the oranges inspired by Florida. These homesick candles will remind you of your favorite scents from the place you call home.

I had a chance to check out the Seattle candle and not only does it come in a darling gift-able box, the fragrance is lovely and just strong enough to scent the room it’s in even when unlit. Once lit Homesick Candles last a long time and give off a delightful fragrance that offers soothing aroma therapy.

Aromatherapy Benefits

Speaking of aromatherapy, there are many ways you can benefit from delightful fragrances to relax your mind and body. These fragrances are especially effective for producing specific aromatherapy results.

Lavender: Reduces anxiety, depression, insomnia, tension and headaches; soothing.

Cinnamon: Improves memory and focus.

Mint: Boosts energy and keeps you active.

Chamomile: Induces restful sleep.

Regularly Moisturize Skin, Face, and Lips

In a market saturated with beauty and skin care lines, Belli Skin Care products stood out to me because they are formulated specifically for pregnant and nursing moms. Belli Skin Care lotion, lip balm, and facial hydrator are luxurious enough to be featured in a mommy spa, they’re convenient enough that you can use them in the comfort of your home, and they’re affordable enough that you can treat yourself again and again. Each product has a unique purpose packed full of wonderful organic ingredients which all serve to make you feel and look your best.

I’ve added 4 products to my daily routine which require only a few minutes a day to apply. Belli Skin Care products have so many benefits and they make me feel oh-so-good.

Sheer Comfort Soothing Lip Balm

Belli Sheer Comfort Lip Balm comes in a pocket-sized squeeze bottle fit for any purse, diaper bag or travel bag. The lanolin-based medical-grade lip balm is great to have on hand to prevent cracking and to rehydrate your dry lips. It also leaves a noticeably glossy and beautiful look on your lips; I have gotten several compliments on how nice the lip “gloss” looks on me! It’s unscented for any moms who just can’t stand those weird lip gloss smells. This fast acting lip balm can also be used on dry knuckles, feet or any other dry or calloused area. It soothes even the driest of lips or skin in minutes.

All Day Moisture Body Lotion

Belli All Day Moisture Body Lotion hydrates, moisturizes and relieves dry and cracked skin. The perfect mixture of Vitamin E, chamomile and lemon uplifts and soothes your skin to give you a radiant glow without white lotion streaks getting on your clothes. And with a light lemony scent, it smells amazing!

Belli Skincare Facial Glow Hydrator - Mommy Scene

Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator

As someone who’s had a long history of rosacea and adult acne, I’m always a little weary of using new products on my face. That’s why I got so excited when I found Belli Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator. I have seen my skin improve and gain a radiant glow. With a wonderful citrusy scent and a thin watery texture, it acts as a base for a foundation or looks great on its own to give you just the boost your skin needs to look flawless. A combination of the healthy glow this lends to my face and the glossy look I get with the lip balm is enough to boost my confidence for any occasion.

Stretchmark Minimizing Cream

Belli Stretchmark Minimizing Cream really impressed me too! I’ve tried several products to minimize and prevent stretchmarks during and after pregnancy and many of them have left a lot to be desired. This cream isn’t sticky and doesn’t get all over your clothes. Its award winning formula is packed with natural ingredients and essential oils each with their own unique purposes – which combine to correct, restore and minimize the permanency of stretchmarks.

  • Darutoside heals, regenerates and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
  • Regestril regenerates and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
  • Lemon oil uplifts.
  • Chamomile soothes and refreshes.
  • Avocado softens and moisturizes.
  • Ginseng evens out the skin tone.
  • Vitamin E serves as an antioxidant and moisturizer.

In just a few weeks of using the minimizing cream, I saw a significant difference in my stretchmarks. While my stretchmarks aren’t gone, they have improved and my skin tone is evening out.

I highly recommend this wonderful product line for moms of all ages. You can rest assured thanks to its safe ingredients as each product transforms your personal routine into a luxurious spa day.

Count your blessings and successes as a mom - Mommy Scene

Count your blessings and celebrate successes

Too often I find myself dwelling on things that go wrong in my life, when there is so much to be excited and thankful for. It’s so important to remind yourself daily of the things that you accomplished (rather than your ever-evolving to-do list!). Keep a journal of good things  – random acts of kindness, something sweet your child said, a small accomplishment, an inspiring quote you heard, etc. Write down funny things that happen or small triumphs in your home. Potty training. You washed, folded, AND put away your laundry – all in the same day! Whatever it is that brings you joy, remember it and remind yourself. And give yourself some grace. You are raising tiny humans. You deserve a trophy.

I try to push my wife to take some alone time in the tub each night. It is her break from the baby…and me.

Candles always make me feel better 🙂 It’s the smell and the look of the flame that’s so relaxing. Add a bubble bath and my night is made!

Great post. I lack in the skin care department, but this shows me I can improve!
