GroVia training pants are designed to help kids transition out of diapers and learn to use the potty. Similar to cloth diapers, they feature a pull-up style that kids can pull up and down themselves. Instead of closing with conventional cloth diaper snaps, these training pants encompass the waist with elastic side panels. I received two training pants to review.
I love the bright magenta and blue colors featured by GroVia training pants. They also come in several other colors. The main feature is the elastic side-flex panels which snap onto the cloth trainer. Two sets of snaps on the front allow these cloth pull-ups to be sized vertically for smaller children. GroVia also sells extra side-flex panels to size the trainers for bigger children. Regular Side-Flex Panels fit children 18-35 lbs. and the Plus Size Side-Flex Panels fit children 30+ lbs. I intended to use these trainers with my 3-year-old but they were a bit snug, which could be resolved by swapping out the side-flex panels for plus size. Regardless, my 16-month-old will get plenty of use out of them when she's ready for potty training. You can also swap out the elastic panels for various colors to mix and match.
GroVia Trainers have elastic around the legs to keep any wetness inside. They also have a pocket inside for adding a soaker pad, ideal for kids who could potentially wet the bed at night. The pull-up style allows older kids to go to the bathroom by themselves at night and during the day without needing help putting the trainer back on.
GroVia Cloth Trainers have three snaps on each side which attach to the side-flex panels. These are easily snapped to remove the trainer. The side-flex panels can also be swapped out for other colors, and regular and plus size side-flex panels can be used interchangeably with these trainers.
GroVia trainers have elastic along the the legs and at the front and back waistband. A pocket runs the length of the trainer to hold an add-on soaker pad for night time use.
GroVia cloth pull-ups are a great Eco-friendly solution to help kids who are learning to make it to the potty in time. They absorb small accidents and help prevent puddles on the floor. With the added soaker pad, they absorb just as well as a conventional cloth diaper. They also are just as easy to clean as cloth diapers.
If your family uses cloth diapers and your kids are learning to use the potty, grab a couple of these to make the process easier. I was delighted to find a reusable cloth pull-up that could help us transition our three kids out of diapers. Using disposable pull-ups quickly added to our household trash and did a number on our budget. I am delighted to find that GroVia's trainers are a high quality, simple to use, and colorful alternative to one-time-use pull-ups.
