I have about four video monitors in my house and I can say I've been pretty impressed by the iBaby M6T Digital Baby Video Camera that's packed with tons of features inside the contemporary globe design. This monitor connects to your phone or tablet so you don't have to take an extra receiver along with you. It can be rotated 360 degrees from your phone and it has a camera and video recorder built in, which can both be activated from your phone. It also has a temperature and humidity sensor, which are nice features to know about your baby's room. I'm excited to share my experience of how this all works!
I found the iBaby Monitor M6T easy to install without having to read the instruction guide. The app itself has a 3 step instruction guide to set up your camera.
I don't have to go to my baby's room to adjust the monitor view. I can turn the monitor 360° or tilt it up to 110° using my phone app. I can also zoom in to see extra details. I can adjust the camera angle by swiping the screen on my phone view. I can zoom in by doing the finger zoom motion on my phone screen.
The ibaby M6T digital monitor has a temperature and humidity sensor which I think is a really cool feature! My camera currently shows that it's 77.4 degrees Ferenheight with a 43.3% humidity level. When the humidify level starts showing below the comfortable level of 40%, I know it's time to turn on the humidifier.
The smart monitor has sound and motion sensors to let you know when something is happening in the baby's room. The alerts will be sent to your mobile device so you won't miss them.
THe iBaby Monitor M6T connects to your smartphone or tablet over the Internet so you can easily check on your baby from anywhere and at any time. The monitor turns 360° and tilts 110° providing a full view of your baby's room. The video is streamed in high definition with a clear picture even at night with the monitor's night vision.
You can play lullabies from the Music Player that are recorded in the ibaby camera's library or you can record your own voice to be played at a later time.
You can also securely share your video feed with friends and family. The monitor allows you to invite unlimited number of users by sending them an email invite.
This ibaby monitor worked well for me. We live in town and we have a pretty reliable Wi-Fi connection.
Music - I love this feature! I can turn on music for my baby from all the way across the house. I opened the music player and started the music, and then I had my husband stand in the nursery and let me know if it turned off while I opened several other apps. I was able to open Chrome and search for something in Google and browse Facebook without the music turning off. The music keeps playing until you turn it off, unless your internet connection gets interrupted. The Music Library has 11 songs including classics like Mary Had a Little Lamb and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I also can switch between the Music Library view and the Camera View within the app without the music turning off.
Remote Positioning - It is very convenient to be able to position the monitor remotely from my phone. I have the monitor on the dresser across from the crib so I have a pretty clear view of the crib. I can zoom in to see the baby better and I can turn the camera to point to other areas of the room. Zooming just requires swiping to zoom on my phone and turning requires me to swipe left and right on my phone screen. The camera turns slowly but effectively.
Humidity Sensor - We have temperature monitors in our house but I don't have a humidity sensor, which is helpful in the colder months so I know when to get out the humidifier. Dry air can be so hard on a little one's throat, skin, and tiny nasal passages. I definitely appreciate the ibaby monitor humidity sensor.
Sound - For me the sound of the ibaby M6T monitor is clear and there is little to no background noise. Since I have my phone next to me at night anyway, it's convenient to have the monitor receiver app open on my phone. I can also use my phone sound controls to increase or decrease the volume. You can also speak through the monitor. The voice sounds normal although it is slightly delayed.
Photo and Video - The ibaby M6T digital baby monitor takes clear photos and video with the press of a button on my phone. It also saves the data to my phone SD card for later reference. The photo and video feature would be ideal for capturing how your child escapes their crib at night or just for general use. All the ibaby photos and video are available under the app's Media section, as well as saved in a folder in my phones "Device Folders".
Remote Access - I tested out the remote access function by turning off the Wi-Fi on my phone. This brought up a ibaby login that required me to put in my email and password that I originally created when I installed the app. Once logging in, the app showed the regular camera view even when I'm away from our home Wi-Fi connection. This login option would also allow family members to access the camera even if they aren't on our Wi-Fi network.
Overall, this is a great option for a high tech video camera. It does require Wi-Fi, but if you have a reliable internet connection you shouldn't have many problems. It also requires a reliable mobile device, so you'll want to connect it to a phone or table that has plenty of storage and doesn't regularly freeze with other apps. For the camera's part, it offers tons of features for monitoring and soothing your baby that are well thought out and very functional, dependent only on the performance of your phone or internet connection. I have a middle of the line T-Mobile Motorola smart phone which works well with the ibaby M6T camera, navigates smoothly between apps, and doesn't close or freeze the ibaby app when I switch to a different app. I'd highly recommend this camera if you are looking for a baby monitor that connects directly to your phone and has lots of smart features.
