Pello is an awesome universal floor pillow for kids to lounge on. We've used ours for the baby, toddler, even our preschooler loves hanging out on this circular plushy cushion. This thing gets moved around various rooms daily at our house. Pello is designed by a mom who was looking to create a safe, warm and versatile spot for her kids to play and rest, while still remaining close to wherever she was. The orange dot "Hayden" Pello is made from organic ivory Sherpa fabric and filled with hypo-allergenic polyfill. It combines a floor mat, positioning pillow, and baby gym all in one!
My one-year-old loves climbing in and out of the Pello. Before she could fully crawl this was a stimulating exercise for her. Now she can easily maneuver around the Pello, but still loves resting on it. The center of the Pello is less padded, with rounded pillow sides around it. This indentation is more pronounced on the un-printed side of the Pello (photo example below), offering a cradling spot for a baby. The other side has fabric stretched over the indentation; the center of the floor pillow still sinks inward but it's more of a flat playspace (photo example above).
Our one-month-old has used our Pello from day one. I pretty much got home from the hospital and put him in it (he's 2 days old in the above picture). It's a secure spot for baby, with adult supervision of course. The Pello floor pillow makes it possible for me to put the baby down in his own little comfy spot on the wood floor in the kitchen while I make dinner.
Impressively, the Pello is machine washable on the cold setting and even possible to dry in the dryer on the low heat setting. I would probably opt to air dry our Pello to maintain it's optimum quality; I really only use the drier for heavy clothes like jeans and socks. I haven't tried cleaning it yet because the material is actually pretty stain resistant.
Pello has loops on the outside edges which act as handles to carry the floor pillow around. You can also attach toys to these handles for easy access. The pillow structure is firm but also easy to bend in half and stuff into a beach bag. Pello is supposedly usable on all surfaces; hardwood floors, grass, and even sand. We haven't taken our Pello outside of the house yet, but its indoor/outdoor use is definitely a great product highlight! Because we love our Pello so much, I'd be careful to clean off any dirt or stains right away — which is why it's awesome that Pello is machine washable!
I love the cheerful organic cotton fabric that decorates the top of the Hayden floor Pello. Other floor pillow styles feature a variety of prints. This orange dot Pello is great for boys and girls to share (or tussle over).
Not only do we love using the Hayden Pello floor pillow in our house, it was also a Green Scene Mom Award Winner, celebrating Eco-friendly product design and innovation! Pello minimizes the need for various baby gear and play surfaces with its all-in-one luxe floor pillow design, combining a play mat and baby jungle gym in one cushy surface!
